Imagen
Google's text-to-image generation model that produces photorealistic images from text descriptions, competing with DALL-E and Midjourney in the AI image generation market.
Imagen was introduced by Google Research in 2022 and demonstrated that scaling the text encoder (using T5-XXL) was more important than scaling the image generation model itself. Imagen 2, integrated into Google's Vertex AI platform, generates images for enterprise applications. Google added SynthID watermarking to Imagen-generated content to help identify AI-generated images. The model is available through Google Cloud and competes in the enterprise segment of the text-to-image market.
